Ruby A. Smith, 97, Lebanon and formerly of Kempton and Tipton,
died at 6 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Parkwood Health Care
Center in Lebanon. She was born on March 14, 1912, in Iuka,
Mississippi to Joseph & Tishamingo (Hudson) Busby. On July
18, 1944, she married Royal A. Smith Jr. and he preceded her
in death on December 7, 1999.
Ruby was a homemaker and also worked at Mallory's in Frankfort.
She attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Tipton. She also
worked during World War II as a welder building ships in Pascagoula,
Mississippi.
She is survived by two daughters Patty Risse and husband Joe,
Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and Jacki Miller and husband Jeff,
Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Amy (Lucas) Brown, Mendie
(Lucas) Thomas, Lora (Smith) Richardson, Daniel Smith, J. Matthew
Miller and Erin (Miller) Sebenste; 13 great-grandchildren and
two great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by one son
Larry Smith, one sister, two brothers and one great-great-granddaughter.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Kelly presiding. Burial will
be in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.

Anna Marie Absher, age 92, of Shellman, Georgia and formerly
of Windfall, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010
at her home in Shellman.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010,
at 2 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall. In lieu of flowers
and cards the family requests all gifts be made to the Disabled

Jane H. Durham Angell, age 80, passed away on Monday March 1,
2009 at Tipton County Hospital in Tipton, Indiana after a lengthy
illness.
She was born in Tipton on October 5, 1929 to Henry and Ruby
(Hobbs) Helgerson. Jane was married to Robert Durham on June
28, 1945 and years later after his passing on April 4, 1984
she married Don Angell who passed away in June of 2006.
Over the years Jane had attended the Apostolic Christian Church
and the First Church of the Nazarene both located in Tipton.
She was a member of the Plum Grove Home Ec. Club, American Legion
Auxiliary Post 0046 and the VFW Womens Auxiliary Post
6246.
Survivors include her children; Janet Johnson of Alaska, Jay
Durham of South Carolina, Joyce Durham of California along with
grandchildren; Clifford Johnson, Jason Johnson, Nash Ryan Durham,
three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Francis Dellinger of Florida also survives. Jane
was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and a daughter,
Jewel Durham.
Funeral services will be held at the Porter Funeral Home on
Friday, March 5, at 10 a.m. Public visitation will be held on
Thursday March 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Porters. Interment will
be at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton with Pastors Joshua

Rosemary Pearl Henry, 90, Tipton, died Sunday, February 28,
2010 at her residence. She was born September 7, 1919 in Jackson
County, Indiana to Sylvester E. & Bertha D. (Bricker) Needler.
On June 24, 1939 she married James R. Henry, Sr. and he preceded
her in death on August 15, 1998.
She was a member of the Tetersburg Christian Church and Willing
Workers Class. Rosemary belonged to the Order of Eastern Star,
Rosary Chapter 66. She had been the secretary for U.A.W. 1166
and participated in the support group for Dr. Leo Watson in
Kokomo.
Rosemary is survived by three sons, James Ronald Henry Jr. and
wife Brenda, Tipton, Bruce Lee Henry and wife Candy, Tipton
and Charles David Henry and wife Carolyn, Kokomo; nine grandchildren,
Annette Watson (Wes), Larry Henry (Julie), Shawn Henry (Brianna),
Stacey Pinkston (Shawn), Laura Henry, Katrina Basiewicz (Tim),
Nicole Henry, Rhonda Holtquist, and Jerry Henry, 21 great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Gerald B. Needler and Marshall Lee Needler both
of Anderson, and a special caregiver, Dorothy Johnson.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Wayne Henry and
Lawrence Gene Henry, three brothers, Leslie G., Clifford B.
and Virgil C. Needler, one sister, Crystal B. VanMatre, and
two grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 3, at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Mangold presiding. Burial will follow
at Tetersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 -
8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Max R. Hinkle, 84, Tipton, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, February
27, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 13, 1925 in
South Bend to Jesse & Edna (Dellinger) Hinkle. He lived
in South Bend for 38 years. On May 3, 1947 he married Donna
Freese and she died June 19, 1970.
Max was a Tool and Die maker at Studebaker in South Bend and
after they closed, he worked at Delco in Kokomo, retiring in
1993. He was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend and
attended the West Street Christian Church in Tipton.
Survivors include two daughters, Lindsey Ehman and husband Brent,
Tipton and Kim Flittner and husband Don, Mars Hill, North Carolina;
eight grandchildren, Jeff Ehman and wife Stacee, Summer Norred
and husband Clay, Stasha Babcock and husband Mike, Jordan Ehman,
Brick Ehman, Cole Flittner, Grayson Flittner and Ashlyn-Kate
Flittner; six great-grandchildren, Gunnar & Claire Norred,
Reis, Kylee & Sawyer Ehman and Brileigh Babcock.

Robert Daniel Maney, Jr., 68, Indianapolis, and a former Tipton
resident, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Richard L.
Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born June
16, 1941 in Indianapolis to Robert D. "Bud" &
Mary Helen (Tolle) Maney.
Bob Worked from1969-1974 as a sports editor and writer at the
Frankfort Times in Frankfort, Indiana; 1974-1978 as sports editor
at the Athens Messenger in Athens, Ohio; 1976-1978 as a part-time
journalism teacher at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio; 1979-1981
as sports editor and reporter at the Atkinson-Annawan News in
Atkinson, Illinois; 1981 writer for Coin World of Sidney, Ohio;
1982-1988 he was the General Manager for the News Publishing
Co. in Atkinson, Illinois and from 1988 until retirement in
2008 he was writer/sports writer/editor of the Paxton Record
in Paxton, Illinois.
While living in Paxton Bob was a member of St. Mary & St.
Joseph Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Ball State University
and was a member of American Legion Prairie Post 150 in Paxton.
He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in
Greenland.
Survivors include cousins Dr. Fred Tolle and wife Paula, Indianapolis,
Judy (Tolle) Henderson and husband William, Greenwood, Capt.
Robert Tolle, USN, (Ret.) and wife Joan, Fairfax, Virginia,
Daniel Tolle, Indianapolis, Patrick Jerrell and wife Elaine,
Indianapolis, Michael Jerrell and wife Linda, Indianapolis and
Stephen Jerrell and wife Kaye, Jasper, Indiana.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, at St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman
presiding. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at a later

Arthur Trusty, 84, Kokomo, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, February
21, 2010 at his residence after a six-month illness. He was
born September 25, 1925 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Estile
& Elizabeth (Wireman) Trusty. On April 19, 1957 he married
Beverly J. Huse and she survives.
He was the owner of Pitch-Lined Burial Vaults in Kokomo for
46 years. Art was a member of One Accord Community Church. He
was named Businessman of the Year for Who's Who and was an honorary
police officer for the Kokomo Police Department. He was a veteran
of the U.S. Army during WWII and was a POW for 4 1/2 months.
He was also awarded the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife Beverly; eight children Judy Pearson,
White City, Oregon, Anthony Trusty, Greentown, Karen Trusty,
Kokomo, Peggy Riebe, Kokomo, Mike Trusty, Galveston, Jeff Trusty,
Indianapolis, Janet Kitts, Kokomo, and John Trusty, Kokomo.
Art is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Ethel
Stine, Kokomo, Harold Trusty, Chicago, Jean Shelton, Burlington,
and Ed Trusty, Georgia; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur Trusty, Jr. and
Raymond Trusty.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 26 at the One
Accord Community Church, 2015 East Carter Street, Kokomo, with
Revs. Scott Butzin and Gary Carpenter presiding. Burial will
be in Barnett Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will
be from 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral

Joseph Dan Ploughe, 69, Windfall, passed at 2 p.m. Saturday,
February 20, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 18,
1940 in Kokomo to Noble Martin Ploughe and Dorothy (Redman)
Ploughe McClellan. On November 6, 1965 he married Carol Graham
and she survives.
He was a banker and had worked at Union State Bank and First
Farmers Bank & Trust, retiring in 2003. Joe was a member
of the Windfall Christian Church and an Elder and Sunday School
teacher. He was a past president of the Windfall Lions Club
and had held various offices within the club and was a recipient
of the Melvin Jones Award.
He was a past member of the Gideon's and past director of Winston-Salem
Bible College. He had also started a church jail ministry. Joe
was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School in 1960. His
interests included church, golf, photography and travel.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Graham) Ploughe; two sons,
Anthony Martin Ploughe, Seattle, Washington and Christopher
Graham Ploughe, Windfall and his twin sister, Judith Ann Morgan
and husband Bryce, Chesterton. Joe was preceded in death by
two sisters and two brothers, Lovevern Off, Noble "Sonny"
Lamar Ploughe, Luellen Vandevender and Larry Ploughe.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24 at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Roudebush presiding. Burial will
be in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall. Visitation will be from
3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Molly Grubb, age 55, of Windfall, IN, passed away on Thursday,
February 18, 2010 at the Clarian North Hospital in Hamilton
County, Indiana. She was born on September 24, 1954 to Peggy
S. (Mason) Cassity in Muncie, IN.
Molly was married to and is survived by her loving husband Wayne
Grubb of Windfall, IN. For 17 years Molly was the manager of
Fast Lane Foods in Windfall. She was an avid bowler and participated
on various leagues in Kokomo at both Cedar Crest and Don Lowry
Lanes. Molly loved sports and was a big supporter of Tri-Central
athletics.
Molly is survived by her husband Wayne, her two sons; Ronny
and wife Leslie Precious Grubb, and Jason and wife
Michelle Princess Grubb all of Windfall along with
grandchildren; JT Grubb, Juston Grubb, Macy Jo Grubb, Janson
Grubb, Katie French, and Jarron Grubb. Surviving siblings include
Michael (Mary) Terrell of Muncie, Ronda (Tom) Patton of Peru,
Roger (Allyson) Cassity of Windfall, and a brother in law, Leonard
Grubb of Elwood. Preceding Molly in death are her mother and
2 sisters; Marla Grubb and Nina Everling.

Betty Lee (Legg) Beach, 83, Marion, and a former Tipton resident,
died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Miller's Merry Manor in Marion.
In June, 1948 she married Jack E. Beach and he preceded her
in death in February, 1976.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a 1944 graduate
of Tipton High School and attended Indiana and Purdue Universities.
She is survived by one son, Timothy J. Beach, Morgantown and
three grandchildren, Sara Beach, Bruce Beach and Allison Beach.
Betty was preceded in death by one son, Bruce E. Beach and one
brother, Jack Legg.
Her funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, February 12 at Young-Nichols Funeral
Home, Tipton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation

Charles Bud Henry McDaniel, age 73, passed away
on February 8, 2010 at his home in Tipton. He was born on January
9, 1937 in Macomb, Illinois to Arthur E. and Florence B. (Barnes)
McDaniel.
Bud was a 1956 graduate from Macomb High School where he was
very active in athletics and was a varsity letterman. He lettered
and received numerous awards in football, baseball, and track
while in high school and loved watching the Colts and
the Cincinnatti Reds. Bud retired from Steel Parts and from
being self-employed as a contractor in 1999, with over 30 years
in at Steel Parts. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sons
of the Legion, and the United Steelworkers Local 3875.
Buds survivors include his children; Cynthea Lorane McDaniel
of Tipton, James Richard Albright of Elwood, Mark Alan Albright
of Tipton along with grandchildren; Sherry Albright of Tipton,
Jessica Albright of New Jersey, Robbie, Nathan, & Daniel
Albright all of Cicero, Derek Langoff of Tipton, Tricia Harris
of Newport News, VA, Craig Ferguson of Tipton, and Sam Abbott
of Elwood. Great grandchildren include; Zakari, Emily, AJ, Bryce,
Kelsie, Sydney, Bradley, Blake, Danielle, Noah, Ivy, and Elizebeth.
Surviving siblings include a sister Lora Mae Vail of Macomb,
IL, two brothers; Francis McDaniel of Macomb, IL and Donald
McDaniel of Ottwell, IN . Other survivors include; Mary Keifer,
Sheila Maddox, Sherry Dick, Shelly Kivett, Kerastin, Trevor,
Sabrin, Shauna, Whitney, Nickolas, Asia, and Isaiah. Bud was
preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three

Ruth Wimer, 106, Carmel, and a former Tipton resident, died
at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Summer Trace in Carmel.
She was born February 9, 1903 in Tipton County, the eldest daughter
of William A. & Emma (Meyer) Wimer.
A life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, she graduated
from Blakers College and Indiana State University, with graduate
work at the Universities of Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana.
She taught Home Economics in Frankton and Kempton, was 4-H Club
leader in Madison County for three summers, Home Demonstration
Agent in Madison County for six years and in Tipton County for
25 years.
Ruth held membership in county, state and national professional
organizations. For several years she served on the board of
directors of the Tipton County Housing Corporation and was secretary
for several years. She assisted with the reorganization of the
Tipton County Historical Society, served as president for three
terms, and on the board of directors and the building committee.
She was the Associate Editor for the history book Tipton County:
Her Land and People, which was published in 1976.
She received distinguished awards from the National Home Demonstration
Agents Association, Purdue University and the Indiana Historical
Society.
Ruth is survived by nieces and nephews, Betty Jo (Wimer) Beever,
Tipton, Carol Ann (Wimer) Svane, Michigan, David Schulenburg,
Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Jerry Schulenburg, Noblesville, Indiana
and Diane (Schulenburg) Schumacher, Arizona. She was preceded
in death by one brother, Raymond Wimer, and one sister, Dorotha
Mae (Wimer) Schulenburg.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11 at the
Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. St. Rd. 19, Tipton, with Rev.
Robb Roloff presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery,

Jerald A. Jerry Shupperd, age 54, passed away on
Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.
He was born in Tipton on August 26, 1955 to Charles and Denzil
(Reynolds) Shupperd. On June 25, 1994 Jerry married Raetta K.
McPhearson and she survives in Elwood. He worked for Cincinnati
Floor Inc. and belonged to the Carpenters Union Local
# 60. Jerry loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid Colts
fan.
Survivors include his wife, Raetta Shupperd, his seven daughters;
Camella Rodgers of Kokomo, Heather Nicole Shupperd of Tipton,
Chasity Mitchell of Kokomo, Chairity Mitchell of Cape Corral,
FL, Tanya Rogers of Tipton, Tiffany Mundy of Elwood, and Torie
Shupperd of Elwood, and his mother, Denzil Shupperd of Arcadia.
Other survivors include two sisters; Linda Shupperd of Arcadia,
Jenny Wallace of Tipton, and a brother, Darrell Shupperd of
Tipton along with grandchildren; Hannah, Zachary, Anthony, Malaki,
Andrew, Harley, Hailey, Joshua, Kahli, and Junior. Jerry was
preceded in death by his father and a brother, Joseph Reynolds.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2010

Betty Ruth Wertz, age 82, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010
at Millers Merry Manor, in Tipton, Indiana. She was born in
Tipton on June 9, 1927 to George Emerson and Margaret Ethel
(Moore) Glass. On February 22, 1947 Betty married John William
Wertz, and he passed away on February 19, 1998.
Betty was a 1945 graduate of Tipton High School and longtime
member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Tipton. She retired
from Delco Electronics in Kokomo in 1990 after 30 years of service
to the company.
Survivors include her three daughters; Kathy and husband Bob
Sloniker of Albany, IN, Karen and husband Mark York of Tipton,
Connie and husband Pat Ripberger of Tipton along with siblings;
Robert and wife Mary Glass of Tipton, and Margaret Reese of
Tipton.
Other survivors include grandchildren; Adam Wiggington, Jeff
Wiggington, Carey Gipson, Christina Flint, Kimberly Auler, Stacy
Jones, Scott Ripberger along with great grandchildren Sydnee,

Debby L. (Burket) Bowman, 59, Kokomo, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday,
January 30, 2010 at her sister's residence after a 5-month illness.
She was born August 1, 1950 in Elwood to Donald G. & Norma
(Porter) Burket.
Debby retired from Delco Electronics in 1999. She was a member
of the Wildcat Guardians and had formerly attended the First
Baptist Church in Tipton.
Debby is survived by her father, Donald Burket, Tipton; three
brothers and one sister, Steve Burket and wife Marlene, Bradenton,
Florida, Jane Galloway and husband Joe, Kokomo, Rex Burket and
wife Rhonda, Kokomo, and Brian Burket and wife Laura, Walton;
nieces and nephews Tyson Schoolman and wife Jodi, Kyle &
Brett Galloway, Ashleigh, Tracey, Rex and Noah Burket, Matt
Burket and Michael Burket. She is also survived by one great-niece,
Karsyn Schoolman and one great-nephew, Cole Riley. Debby was
preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Burket.

Guy Crouch, Jr., 89, a lifelong farmer in the Hobbs community
of Tipton County died at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27,
2010 at Tipton Hospital. He was the son of Guy & Helen (Meyncke)
Crouch. On May 28, 1937 he married Louise Wilburn and she survives.
Guy had served as Madison Township Trustee and had also served
as a Tipton County Councilman. He was a member of the Tipton
Community School Board and president of the Tipton County Livestock
Breeders Association.
Guy was a ringmaster of the Tipton County 4-H livestock shows
for many years and a strong supporter of the 4-H program. He

in many capacities. He was a kind and loving husband and father.
Survivors besides has wife Louise include four children, Sherry
Beach and husband Larry, Winamac, Tom Crouch and wife Betty,
Lexington, Kentucky, Dan Crouch and wife Jane, Lisle, Illinois
and Ann Swift, Tipton;10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Max Crouch,
Tipton and several nieces and nephews.
Guy was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Clarence, Maurice
and Bob Crouch; three sisters, MariLou Downs, and Ruth and Patti
Crouch and one grandson.
Funeral services for Guy will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January
30 at the Hazel Dell Friends Church, 4017 E. 300 N., Windfall
with David Freelan presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery,
Tipton. Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home, Tipton, and from 12 - 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Herbert F. Moeller, 91, Tipton died at 10 p.m. Sunday, January
17, 2010 at his residence. He was born December 29, 1918 in
Farmers Retreat, Indiana to Herman Henry & Carrie (Linkmeyer)
Moeller. On January 20, 1946 he married Lucy Ploughe and she
survives.
He was a contractor and co-owner with his father of Moeller
& Sons and was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church,
Tipton. Herb served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors besides his wife Lucy include two daughters, Kristy
Moeller Ottinger, Greenville, Tennessee, and Cynthia Smith,
Westfield, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by two brothers and one sister.
Herb's funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20 at the
Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton with Rev.
Robb Roloff and Rev. Kurt Gremel presiding. Burial will be in
Normanda Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from
4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral home.
Herb's family will also have visitation from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday
at the restored Old St. John's Lutheran Church, behind Emanuel
Lutheran, a building which he was instrumental in moving and
restoring.

Betty
Jean Arnett, age 81, passed away on January 13, 2010 at Sheridan
Healthcare in Sheridan, IN. She was born on April 12, 1928 in
Clinton County, Indiana to William T. and Iva M. (Simpson) Friend.
After graduating from Kempton High School in 1946 Betty went
on to marry Norman D. Arnett on July 29, 1948 and he passed
away on May 27, 1990. Betty had worked at Delco Radio in Kokomo
and was a homemaker.
Bettys survivors include her children; Linda Purvis of
Indianapolis, Terry Arnett of Tipton, Marsha and husband Randy
Kerr of Atlanta, IN, and Timothy Arnett of Indianapolis along
with grandchildren; Steven Purvis, Tina Arnett, Erica Arnett,
Amber Kerr, Kristen Kerr, and 5 great grandchildren. Betty was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, and 3
sisters.
Calling will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 16,
at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services being
held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 18, at Porters. Pastor
Rita Raymond will be officiating. Interment will take place

Ted William Davis, 59, Arcadia, passed away at 9:40 a.m. on
Saturday, January 9, 2010 at IU Hospital in Indianapolis. He
was born on November 6, 1950 in Elwood to Ray & Rena Davis.
On August 11, 1973 he married Julie Ann Scherer.
He received his BS from Indiana State University and his MAE
from Ball State University. He was employed as a Speech Pathologist
at Hamilton Southeastern School Corporation for 35 years. He
also was employed as the Building Commissioner of Arcadia. He
was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton.
In addition to his wife Julie, he is survived by his daughter
Cheryl Ann Davis, Indianapolis; son Sean William Davis and wife
Anastasia, Tipton: one grandson, Alexander William Davis; two
sisters, Lisa Mahan, Fishers and Chris Isaacson and husband
John, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; one brother, Mark Davis and wife
Suzi, Brownsville, Texas; several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Mark
Mahan.
Friends may call from Noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, January 16
at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1385 S. Main Street, Tipton.
A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Robb Roloff
and Rev. Kurt Gremel presiding. Private family burial will take
place in Zimmer Cemetery, Noblesville.

Golda Lillian Butler, age 84, passed away Tuesday, December
5, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor, in Tipton, Indiana. She was
born in West Plains, Missouri on May 19, 1925 to Clarence and
Jessie (Reeves) Reed. On May 4, 1944 Lillian married Dallas
Butler, and he passed away in March of 1989. Lillian had worked
at Stellite in Kokomo and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Danny and wife Melody Butler of Tipton,
siblings; Elmo Reed of Greentown, Mildred Myers-Miami, IN, and
Pansy Crites of Greentown. Other survivors include her grandchildren;
Drew, Casey, and Brady Butler. Lillian was preceded in death
by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be on Saturday January 9, at the Porter
Funeral Home in Tipton at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior

Bonnie Josephine (Langolf) Smith, age 88, San Antonio, Texas
and formerly of Atlanta, died at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, January
3, 2010 at Kingsley Place in San Antonio.
She was born April 20, 1921 in Hamilton County, to Otto and
Ruth (Bolton) Langolf. Bonnie married Ralph N. Smith, who predeceased
her on January 23, 1993.
She retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 32 years, working
as a clerk and then Postmaster Pro Tem of the Atlanta Post Office.
Bonnie was a member of: Albright United Methodist Church, Atlanta,
Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, San Antonio, TX, New Hope
Home Economics Club, Tipton Co., and Order of Eastern Star.
She also belonged to Atlantas Serve-All Club, during its
existence.
Surviving family includes four children - Lester R. Smith, Grand
Junction, Colorado, Suzanne G. Mills, San Antonio, Texas, David
Langolf Smith and wife Karla, Atlanta, and Nanci J. Smith, San
Antonio, Texas; two grandsons, Lance Smith and wife Heather
& Justin Smith, all in Colorado; three step-grandchildren,
Angel Ringer, Wes York & Will York, in Indiana; great grandson,
Brayden Smith; and, step-great-grandchildren: Dorian, Quincy
& Alyssa York, Jonathon & Annabelle York, and, Madison
Ringer.
Bonnie is also survived by a sister, June Wise, Spencer, Indiana,
and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three
brothers, Ray, Ward & Joe Langolf, and five sisters, Ethel
May Himes, Margaret Haston, Grace Swinford, Charlotte Wise,
and Marylou Myers.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 9 at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Barnett presiding. Burial will
follow in Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m.
Friday at the funeral home.

Tracey W. Johnson, age 48, passed away on Thursday December
31, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born in
Tipton, IN on November 22, 1961 to Robert and Karin (Robinson)
Johnson who survive in Windfall. Tracey had worked for Penske
Truck Leasing as a diesel mechanic.
Along with his parents Robert and Karin other survivors include
his son Brady and wife Kendra Foreman of Tipton, two sisters;
Kelly Johnson of Tipton, Anna and husband James Bowers of Windfall,
three nephews; Tyler, Shawn, Logan, and three great nephews.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday January 4, at the
Porter Funeral Home in Tipton with visitation two hours before
the service. Pastor Tim Lueking of the Cicero Christian Church
will be officiating. Interment will take place at Brookside
Cemetery in Windfall.

Donna Dee Lorts, 98 of Sharpsville died at 7:44 p.m., Wednesday,
December 30, 2009 at Tipton Hospital. She was born in Nevada,
Indiana, on October 15, 1911, the daughter of Cash & Bessie
(Shaw) Cottingham. In 1931 she married Wayne Lorts and he preceded
her in death on December 29, 1978.
Donna Dee believed in the sanctity of marriage and wanted others
to experience the joys that she had shared with Wayne. She relished
being a farm wife and took an active part on the farm, cooking
and helping out in the fields. After Wayne died, she continued
living on the farm. She delighted in the frequent visits from
family.
Donna Dee was often found at the kitchen table with a book in
her hands, her faithful dog Sally by her side, and an endless
supply of love and snacks for her visitors. She relished the
exuberance of children even when her grandchildren kicked a
football out of her upstairs window and her great-grandchildren
played rambunctiously under the bed at family gatherings.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School, had belonged to
the Nevada Methodist Church and attended the Windfall Church
of the Brethren.
Surviving are daughters Sandy Richey and husband Jim, Sharpsville,
Ricky Moeller and husband Ron, Kokomo, sons Terry Lorts and
Ted Lorts and wife Sandy, all of Sharpsville. She is also survived
by 10 grandchildren, Tim Richey and wife Maigen, Tracy Dorsett
and husband Tony, Dan Lorts, John Lorts and wife Tammy, Jim
Lorts and wife Carol, Ted Lorts and wife Pam, Bob Lorts, Rhonda
Conwell and husband Adam, Renae Shirley and husband Dan, and
Ryan Moeller and wife Aly. Donna Dee also had 13 great-grandchildren
and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and
one sister, Cuma Sullenger.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, at Young-Nichols
Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Bill Salsbery presiding. Burial
will follow in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
